Demographic dualism is basically the dual effects of population. When the population of a country rises then in one way, the burden on the resources of that country increases because rise in the population will create more demand for houses, food, health services and other basic needs. So, this is the one effect. On the other hand, the rise of population can also change the demographic structure of that country in such a way that it can be the opportunity for its economic growth. For example, in the case of India, it is true that it has high population and it is the concern for us to provide the basic needs to all. But on the other hand, it is also true that the age - structure of the population is such that the most of the population lies in the age group 15-59 i.e. India has the high working population than any other country in the world. This working age population can be the opportunity for India for its economic growth if this population can be more productive.
