    transcriptome is the full range of messenger RNA, or mRNA, molecules expressed by an organism. The term "transcriptome" can also be used to describe the array of mRNA transcripts produced in a particular cell or tissue type. advantage is Transcriptomics allows for the identification of genes and pathways that respond to and counteract biotic and abiotic environmental stresses. Transcriptomes Are Indicative of Gene Activity Thus, by collecting and comparing transcriptomes of different types of cells or tissues, researchers can gain a deeper understanding of what constitutes a specific cell type and how changes in transcriptional activity may reflect or contribute to disease.
