    William C Bagley was the founder of essentialism The neccessary attributes that are essential for an identity and function is called essentialism. This stems from Plato's idea called "Idealism" where the essence or prior needs that are important for an human existence is called idealism. E.g. If your supposed to teach meditation. You are supposed to posses skills like patience, focus, heartfulness etc that are essential for the understanding and learning of Meditation. Only when this essence is achieved one could become a meditation instructor.
