NET stands for National Eligibility Test where as JRF means Junior Research Fellowship. NET is conducted by NTA for the post of Assistant professor but in case of JRF, NTA provides student a chance to become Researcher in top Indian universities. Students who wish to become Professor or even Researcher are required to appear for NET exam. There are few differences between NET and JRF, such us: Age Limit NET Lectureship - No age limit JRF Junior Research Fellowship - Maximum 30 years Application form- While filling the NET form, students are required to select JRF option in order to qualify for it. Only 6% of NET qualified candidates (who have opted for JRF) become eligible for Junior Research Fellowship. JRF qualified candidates are also eligible for Lectureship. JRF qualified candidate get a stipend of Rs. 31000/month for 2 years and 35000/month for next year. Student who wish to become Professor or Researcher, must know about the 2 types of NET exam i.e., UGC NET and CSIR NET. They both are similar to each but there are some difference between CSIR NET and UGC NET like: UGC NET is conducted for the post-graduates’ students of arts, humanities, management who wish to become assistant professor/researcher in top Indian institutes. CSIR NET is exam for science aspirant candidates who want to become junior research fellow (JRF) and assistant professor.
