     net primary productivity is the difference between the gross primary productivity and the loss due to respiration. whereas, Secondary productivity is the rate of formation of organic matter by the consumers.

    yes u are right.. actually net secondary productivity is the gain by the consumer in energy or biomass per unit area per unit time remaining after respiratory loss.
