    Lucky Jim by Kingsley Amis was his first novel which was published in 1954 by Victor Gollancz. The novel won the 1955 Somerset Maugham Award for fiction. The story revolves around a lecturer, James Dixon at an unnamed university. Dixon presents the image of Angry Young Man who is disillusioned with the modern society and its ways.
