    The Lament for the Makaris", is a poem in the form of a danse macabre (dance of death) by the Scottish poet William Dunbar. Dunbar laments for some of the poets in the poem and repeats the Latin refrain timor mortis conturbat me (fear of death troubles me) in every fourth line. Some poets included are Chaucer, John Gower, Robert Henryson, Walter Kennedy etc.
