The novel by Victorian author Emily Bronte was published in 1847 under her pseudonym Ellis Bell.  The novel has elements of gothic fiction and shape shifting. The novel is based on flash backs and time shifts and even the evocation of place because the plot is based on dual locations, i.e. two neighbouring houses- Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange. The novel moves through the past, present and future.
