    Correct answer most probably would be (C).. I got the point what it is asking actually. As in the glaciation period in Plio-Pleistocene epoch or Last Glacial maximum. Most of the world's deserts expanded. Exceptions were in what is now the western United States, where changes in the jet stream brought heavy rain to areas that are now desert and large pluvial lakes formed. But when it comes to southern margin of northern hemisphere situations were something else. During the Last Glacial Maximum, much of the world was cold, dry, and inhospitable, with frequent storms and a dust-laden atmosphere. So i think correct answer would be drier and desert expansion, that is correct option is (C).
