Shale may comprise of many minerals including those of feldspar, iron rich minerals, sulphide minerals and even carbonate rich minerals, all of which are not very stable at surface conditions. Like illite, one of the clay minerals itself is not much stable and may form a more stable kaolinite. So, in general it can be said that shale will be more prone to chemical weathering than granite but obviously the exact composition of both the rocks may be required to be studied to comment on this accuratey.

The answer is B) granite as it contains quartz which is the mineral which is least affected by chemical weathering. All other rocks are affected by chemical weathering.
