I think answer has to be (C)... Here a and b denotes anterior and posterior side mainly.

But there's a set of rules hence followed.... Like even numbers are used for teeth of left valve and odd numbers for right valve and you can see in figure 1 is for the first cardinal tooth towards the anterior side of the right valve(upper one).

The correct answer should be C) as the right valve teeth indicated by odd numbers are written on top and the left valve teeth indicated by even numbers are written at bottom. Refer to the picture attached(taken from Dr. Amal Dasgupta's book of Introduction to Palaeontology)
how is it written 2ab- 4ab when in the book its given only 2a 4a 2b
Yeah the options are not completely correct but the closest answer is C)
