during the prophase each chromosome have 2 sister chromatids. So the no of chromosome is 18 (given). 18×2=36

Since prophase starts after interphase and in interphase(particularly in S-Phase) amount of DNA will get doubled because each chromosome will get duplicated and consists Two sister Chromatids. And ploidy doesn't change in the mitosis. Since there are 18 chromosomes and each chromosome (during prophase) will have two sister Chromatids, Total number of Chromatids present at the Beginning of prophase of mitosis will be, 18 x 2 = 32

option b (54) is the right answer because as we know in triploid cell with 18 chromosome triplet condition 3n = 54 during prophase
