    Most probable answer of this question should be (C).... As the primitive earth was hitted or impacted by the meteorites in colossal amount and apart from this the other factor might have been radioactive heating due to decay of radioactive elements.

    The lithosphere is the outer solid part of the earth, including the crust and uppermost mantle. The lithosphere is about 100 km - 200 km thick, although its thickness is age dependent (older lithosphere is thicker).
