(A) anti will be most stable in H20. Because, if the both -OH are in anti position, both OH can undergo extensive intermolecular H-bonding. solvent molecules can effectively hydrolyse both OH. also, at the anti position, The dipole moment is cancelling out and becoming 0. Due to these above two factors, Anti position is the most stable.
