    See I have explained in the figure attached below.. Clearly you can see the stratum contour of 500 m is coincident with the stratum contour of 400 m. Which shows that there is some displacement of the strata otherwise it's not possible for this Discontinuity to happen. Here yellow line shows the stratum contour of 400m and orange Line shows the stratum contour of 500m . Green Arrow shows the dipping direction.

    Answer: 100m Draw a strike like of 500m height on the left side block of the fault (A & B bed contact). You will see that 500m height strike line on the left side of the fault cuts 400m height contour on the right side of the fault. It means that left block is upthrown whereas right side block is downthrown block and the vertical throw amount of the fault = 500m - 400m = 100 m
