As we know from Bowen's reaction series , the first member of discontinuous series is olivine then second is pyroxene then third is amphibole and last is biotite. Olivine needs divalent cation to neutralise the charge of silicon tetrahedra. General formula of olivine is X2SiO4 so here no Si is replaced by Al ion. Pyroxene has general formula XYSi2O6 .Here Al doesn't replace Si but it can take position in Y site. Amphibole has general formula X2Y5Z8O22. Where Z can be Si or Al. So in amphibole Al can replace Si in Z site. Biotite has general formula K(Mg,Fe)3AlSi3O10(OH)2 . Here one Al ion replaces the Si ion. So as we can see that by going from top to bottom in Discontinuous series replacement of Si by Al increases. So here option A is correct.
