58. Class 'm3m' belong to: A. Trigonal system B. Isometrie system C. Hexagonal system D. Triclinic system (BHU-2013) I first time saw m3m class..? I didn't see in books .I read In klein and Nesse that point groups in isometric system are-- 23, 2/m bar3 , 432 , bar4 3m ,. 4/m bar3 2/m.

BHU has it's own beauty when it comes to framing of questions (probably in entrance examination). They can discover some crystal groups while setting the paper, so don't worry ; you just have to go for the basic concepts involved in point group. Here the correct answer should be Isometric system(B).How's that possible, cuz that's not given in any of the books available for mineralogy and crystallography. So, here you can apply the concept of basic point group classification in their respective crystal system. Well you might be aware of the fact that what exactly is a point group and how it is related to symmetry elements in crystals. Any of the point group can be expressed as "xyz" or any other triplet you can think of. So for this point group to be a member of Isometric group, y should be equal to 3 or bar3. If that is the case, then it most probably belongs to isometric system. So, as per your question, Option (B) has to be correct.
