    Answer: (A): G (monazite) < G (olivine) Here G denotes Gibbs free energy. Phases of greater Gibbs Free Energy are unstable with regard to phases with lower Gibbs Free Energy. Here in this case, olivine is not present means olivine is unstable and monazite is present means monazite is stable in given conditions. Since, monazite is stable and olivine is unstable; Olivine must have high Gibbs free energy value than of Monazite. i.e. G (monazite) < G (olivine) Answer: (C) Pyrrhotite Pyrrhotite shows omission solid solution, in which a crystal contains one or more atomic sites that are not completely filled. Best-known example of omission solid Solution is exhibited by pyrrhotite (Fe1 − xS).
