Explanation: The dissolution of a solute in a solvent relies on the interaction between solute particles, and solvent molecules....and usually this is an attractive force. It is reasonable that such interactions should ELEVATE the boiling point of a solution by an amount proportional to the concentration of the dissolved solute... And so too for melting point... the solvent-solvent forces of interaction are SOMEWHAT diminished.

    Option C increase in entropy

    eduncle-logo-app

As non volatile solute is there so no attractive and repulsive interaction...as the molecules gets increases so increase in entropy is general reason

    eduncle-logo-app

but sir if non volatile solute is added then vapoure pressure decreases due to attractive nature of solute and solvent

    eduncle-logo-app

more general reason is asking and as non volatile solute is present so genrally we consider no interactions

    eduncle-logo-app

    what is given in answer?

    eduncle-logo-app

    ans is c

    eduncle-logo-app

yes more general reason is increase in entropy

    eduncle-logo-app

is this reason is also write as if we increase the temp. then entropy increases

    eduncle-logo-app

entropy increases with increase in temp
