    For series R-L circuit, time constant (T) = L/R. And for series R-C circuit, T = R*C. This will always help you. Best regards.

    here is the solution, the time constant for RL ckt is T=L/R. time constant is the time,it takes the voltage across the component to either fall (across the inductor) or rise (across the resistor) to within 1/e of its final value
