    Language of the question is not clear. If power supply is only switched off then the circuit becomes open circuit and current in open circuit is always zero. But if the power supply is only switched off and shorted then it will be the case of decay of current jn series LR circuit. I think question is about the second case but there is a little language mistake. I have discussed both the cases in the attached file.

    if current (i) is its maximum saturated value (E/R) . Then after closing switch, Current will be zero. Option C.
