    Answer (B) Gently plunging fold The fold appears tight in the horizontal section indicates that the hinge line of the fold axis makes very low angle with the horizontal plane. Hinge line making with low angle with horizontal plane indicates low Plunge amount i.e. the fold is gently plunging in nature. Note: Any gently plunging fold may appear tight fold in section if the section is cut at a low angle with the hinge line of the fold.

    gently plunging fold If a gently plunging fold is cut as horizontal section it would appear tight although it's gentle open fold
