It will execute SHM about the centre of earth, reason being is gravitational force is attractive and it decrease to zero as you approach to the centre. and gravity is maximum at surface, and decrease in both upward and downward direction. abd it has very trivial mathematical proof. Best regards

will the ball decrease it's speed as there is less gravity at the centre of earth and the ball will be attracted with same force on both sides

    eduncle-logo-app

Speed of ball will increase as it approch the centre ,but rate of increase i.e acceleration will decrease. once it passes center because of interia , Direction of force will be opposite and then speed start decreasing and reach zero, then ball invert its direction of motion and repeat the procedure.

yes force is symmetric about the centre of earth.

gravity is maximum at the surface and goes on decreasing as we move from Earth either inside or at certain height @nitin meel

As you dropped the ball the ball it’s will move towards the centre due to gravity. As gravity is zero at the centre you may think that it’s will stop at the centre. But according told Newton's first law if no force is acting a body at rest will remain at rest and a body in motion will continue its motion along the straight line. So here at the centre the force i's zero but due to inertia it will continue its motion towards the other side of the earth. Again the particle will be attracted towards the centre and it will move towards your side of the whole. Thus the body will execute simple harmonic motion. This process will continue for ever and will never stop.

at which place the gravity is more on the surface of earth or inside

    eduncle-logo-app

Gravity is most at the surface of the earth. It gradually decreases towards the centre and at the centre it becomes zero.Value of g also decreases with the height.See the attached image which shows variation of g with distance r from the centre.
