    scale=1:50000 and 1km= 100000cm so, 1/50000 = x/100000 x=2

    1:50,000

    First convert 1km to cm

    1km = 1000m = 1000 × 100 cm = 1.00,000cm

    The map scale  is 1:50,000, so We divide by 50,000

    100000 ÷ 50000 = 2 Therefore,

    1km is equivalent to 2cm on the map,
