. A virus has a genome consisting of a single DNA molecule with a base composition of A= 24.6%, T = 34.7%, G = 20.2%, C = 20.2%. How would you describe the DNA and how would you determine if the molecule is linear or circular? (a) the DNA is single-stranded and if it is resistant to double-strand specific nucleases, it is linear (b) the DNA is single-stranded and if it is resistant to double-strand and single-strand specific exonucleases, it is circular (c) the DNA is partially double-stranded and if it is resistant to nucleases, it is linear (d) none of these

Data shows that DNA is single stranded. If it is resistant to both exonuclease it is circular. So the answer is B. Single strand because unequal A and T When resistant to both exonuclease it will attain the circular structure.
