    Answer: (D) 7 Number of components (C)= 7 Degree of freedom (F)= 2 Number of minerals present in the rock= Number of phases (P) Now, the formula for the degree of freedom is: F = C - P + 2 i.e., 2 = 7 - P + 2 i.e., P= 7 So, the number of minerals present in the rock= 7
