Are d-glucose and l-glucose c-5 epimers of each other?

Are D-glucose and L-glucose C-5 epimers of each other?

    no they aren't epimer of each other.to be an epimer there should be only one chnage of chiral centre not more than that.

    No, the C5 epimer of D Glucose is L Idose, see below. L Glucose is the enantiomer of D Glucose meaning the full mirror image, or the 2, 3, 4, 5 epimer. Flipping the hydroxyl on C5 will turn a D sugar into an L sugar but it also changes the name of the sugar.

    No, dear student. L-Idose is the C5 epimer of D-Glucose. Not L-Glucose.

    but in D and L glucose configuration only changed at c5 carbon
