As given, ic =ie, then i base should be zero. then how to solve for this circuit?

As given In the transistor circuit given in the figure, the emitter-base junction has a voltage drop of 0.7 V. A collector-emitter voltage of 14 V reverse biases the collector. Assuming the collector current to be the same as the emitter current, the value of Rg is, kQ. 20 V 2 kQ B 100 1 k E

    yeah that's right. we'll have to apply all those equations inspite of being given ic =ie. otherwise we can't solve

    in this type of questions first apply kvl at output section and find Ic...then using beta and Ic find Ib....then apply kvl at input section and find resistance Rb
