3 centre mean Al-CH3-Al and this bonds are formed by 2e so we say it is 3c-2e bond

    got it??

    eduncle-logo-app

sir can we say both are 3c-2e bond

    what is 3 c means,?

    eduncle-logo-app

    3 carbon are attached?

    eduncle-logo-app

C mean centre or groups or atoms

    eduncle-logo-app

    here 3C mean Al-CH3-Al

    eduncle-logo-app

why do we say 3 C, because here Carbon is attached to 3 hydrogen and two Al na?

    eduncle-logo-app

    it becomes 5

    eduncle-logo-app

because in the bridge there is two Al anf one CH3 group involved

    eduncle-logo-app

and 2 e means Aluminum donates electron?

    eduncle-logo-app

actually Al has 3 valence electrons, out of 2 electrons share by two terminal CH3 group each and remaining 1e is shared by 1 bridge CH3 group we know that one CH3 group share 1e and 1 by Al so total bridge electrons are 2

    eduncle-logo-app

remember in one bridge, only one Al share 1e and another Al share 0 electron.

    got it??

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes, thank you
