Calculation of q and w according to first law of thermodynamics. ae q + w since ae = 0, b. hence -w i.e, the work is done at the expense of the heat absorbed.

Why the meaning of q = - W, work done at the expense of heat absorbed?

    Dear Sourav, when change in internal Energy=0 then q=-W then here two cases arises... 1st case If q is positive then w is negative ..This means that net heat absorbed by the system is equal to net work done by the system .. 2nd case If q is negative then w is positive ...This means that heat releases from the system is equal to net work done on the system.... In this way you can understand this sourav
