There is no such tips or shortcuts to solve quantum mechanics problems.To solve the problem of Quantum Mechanics, you must have a strong ground of Mathematics, specially some topics; Complex numbers, Partial and Ordinary differential equations, integral calculus, linear algebra. fourier analysis etc...If your maths will be good and you will have deep knowledge of the topic then step by step you will be able to solve quantum problem.  
Any book from where I can practise them
if you are beginners in quantum mechanics, then you should practice from book of indian author not of forgein author. A lot of indian author books are available in market.
quantum mechanics by Satya Prakash is a good book of indian author.
