Can cysteine be phosphorylated ?

    No Cysteine can't be Phosphorylated. It has free -SH group in it's side chain whereas Phosphorylation is achieved through -OH group. This is the property of very few Amino Acids those containing -OH side chains. Such as Ser, Thr, Tyr.

    No it canot be phosphorylated. because it contain free SH group to its R chain. other properties given in attachment.
