    yeah, they offer you to opt for PhD, they won't force you to do that for sure.

    In joint Msc PhD courses it is possible that one loses interest in research and can leave taking a msc degree only ( after 3 years) that's is 1 extra year from the usual msc ,but it's not like a total waste ,one get a 1year experience of research plus a msc degree , but let me just warn you this rule varies from university to university ,so it's better to first see guidelines for the msc PhD joint course on the university website and then proceed , Best regards.

    yes, you can leave the course. In most of the cases, you can leave the course after two years, and you will get a degree for masters. but in some Universities you have to study for three years, to get your masters degree(if you had opted for integrated MSc PhD program). Do ask doubts if any. Best regards.
