Time management is very much important in IIT JAM. The eduncle test series for IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics helped me a lot in this portion. I am very thankful to the test series I bought from eduncle.

Concept of uniformitarianism suggests that catastrophic processes were not responsible for the landforms that existed on the Earth's surface. This idea was diametrically opposed to the ideas of that time period which were based on a biblical interpretation of the history of the Earth. Instead, the theory of uniformitarianism suggested that the landscape developed over long periods of time through a variety of slow geologic and geomorphic processes. And those processes are still going on in present. Some environmental conditions prevailed in the past have no modern analogues because Earth's conditions have changed so much from creation. Law of superposition- Younger beds will be at top and older beds will be at bottom of stratigraphic succession Law of original horizontality- When deposited, all the beds were horizontal. The beds are deformed with time due to tectonic processes. Law of lateral continuity- Beds are laterally continued upto a large distance (generally basinal extent). There might be discontinuity at places but beds can be traced after discontinuity even.
