    Dialkyl cadium has less reactivity

    eduncle-logo-app

so it reacts with acid chloride to form ketone only

    eduncle-logo-app

Whereas RMgX & Rli will react with acid chloride to form Ketone. And then further it will attack on ketone to form alcohol

    eduncle-logo-app

    Whereas R2Cd don't attack ketone

    eduncle-logo-app

So this compound is best suited for ketone preparation

    eduncle-logo-app

Have you studied RMgX reaction Simun.

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes sir

    eduncle-logo-app

Then you must have studied alcohol preparation from ketone

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes sir

    eduncle-logo-app

That's why we use R2Cd as it can't attack ketone due to its low reactivity

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes sir I got it
