Can we solve this by phi = -log base 2 * d where d is sediment size

44 In a sedimentary rock, the diameters of two grains A and B are 1o and 3p, respectively. The difference in diameters between A and B is mm (rounded off to two decimal places). liaht rav nasses from mineral A to mineral B having refractive indices of 1.750 and 1.430,

    Solving by another way I get 1/2-1/8 == 0.375 mm. As D1= 2^(-1) and D2= 2^(-3) . So difference in diameter = 1/2-1/8 = 3/8
