option A,C,D are correct For Cerium the +3 oxidation state is more stable than +4.  The formation of Ce4+ is favoured by its noble gas configuration, but it is a strong oxidant reverting to the common +3 state.  The Eo value for Ce4+/ Ce3+ is + 1.74 V which suggests that it can oxidise water.

sir +4 oxidation state is more stable than+3 ???!

The most common and stable oxidation state of Lanthanides is +3.It is attained by removing outermost 2 electrons of 6s electrons and 1 electron from 4f electrons. It is due to high energy difference in 4f and 6s, it is difficult to remove more electrons from 4f sub-shell.

lekin sir cerium k case me outer shell me 4 electrons hone k wajah se +4 will be more stable na ?

The incorrect statement about the Cerium is only B option. B The +4 oxidation state of cerium is not known in solutions [ Incorrect ] As +4 oxidation state, is common for the Cerium. The correct statement about the Cerium are as follows: The common oxidation state of Cerium are +3, and +4. The +3 oxidation state of the Cerium is more stable than the +4 oxidation state. Cerium (IV) acts as an oxidising agent
