In such type of questions how to decide depended and independent variables and the MOST IMPORTANT THING how to decide what function i have to take like here is P=P(S,T)

    it is easy to decide. just do what the question says.here the process is isobaric, P will be constant. for first part see the subscripts and decide about the independent variables. for first part T and S are subscripts , hence they have taken P= P(S,T). P.S : you can take any two variables as independent (hence remaining variables will be dependent). you just have to act according to the question.
