Spit is an extended stretch of beach material that projects out to sea and is joined to the mainland at one end. Spits are formed where the prevailing wind blows at an angle to the coastline, resulting in longshore drift. Triangular facet are generally formed by the erosion of fault - bounded mountain ranges. Triangular facets aren't related to glacial processes.

Yes, your argument is correct. But when you will look for most probable answer then the correct answer should be spit-longshore drift. Read the statement "A triangular facet may form by wave erosion of a mountain front or by glacial truncation of a spur". By the statement you can interpret that; a triangular facet may or may not form by glacial erosion but, spits are almost always associated with longshore drift.
