    Neyveli and Palana coal deposits are of Lignite type, which is non-coking. Garampani coal deposit is of Tertiary Period and mostly contains low grade coals.

    jharia is the best coaking coal in india . Comes under gondwana supergroup jharkhand. Naveyli lignite Tamilnadu Palana rajastan also lignite type garampani in Assam
