Deccan traps attain its maximum thickness in Western Region or most probably in the central part near mumbai. You really cannot directly say the answer would be Central India, as this term is itself not defined on a much pronounced way. And this central india apart from some contiguous part of mumbai, also includes states like madhyapradesh and chhattisgarh. As maximum thickness of deccan is found to be dominating in the Western part, so best possible answer would be Mumbai. Katiawar is from kutch, Gujarat (a plateau mainly).
