Dianion of cyclooctatetraene is aromatic in nature as it fulfills the 4n+2 criteria. Both the negative charges are treated as π-electrons which can be delocalised in the ring system. The dianion makes the molecule planar from tub shape of cyclooctatetraene. In the cyclopropenyl anion the negative charge is counted as π-electrons and thus total of 4 π-electrons It fulfills the conditions of anti-aromatic compounds. This makes this molecule antiaromatic.
