sir answer is given as 5

    eduncle-logo-app

    then here is the answer

    eduncle-logo-app

    then how 3 sir told?

    eduncle-logo-app

    your sir in class??

    eduncle-logo-app

    in the comment section..rahul pandey

    eduncle-logo-app

sir told-Maximum number of phases can not exceed than components in an equilibrium system.

    eduncle-logo-app

    i m confused.sir

    eduncle-logo-app

    sir please explain.

    eduncle-logo-app

pardon i am not so sure about this case ... i will see and say

    eduncle-logo-app

what i know just said and it's matching with the answer

    eduncle-logo-app

    han sir its matching.

    eduncle-logo-app

Who said phases can not exceed components at equilibrium..it can let's just take an example of water system at triple point means it's a equilibrium point 3 phases of H2O (water, vapour and ice ) coexist but component is only one that is H2O

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes sir.

    eduncle-logo-app

    5 will be the answer

    eduncle-logo-app

    ok sir.done.

    eduncle-logo-app

    thank you.

For euilibrium crystallization, number of phases should be less than or equal to the number of components because F is greater than or equal to 2. (F=C-P+2) if F>=2 then C>=P Here the number of components is 3 so the maximum possible number of phases(minerals) can be 3.

    eduncle-logo-app

sir answer is given as 5

    eduncle-logo-app

That must be wrong. Correct answer is 3. Maximum number of phases can not exceed than components in an equilibrium system.
