    Alkyl group (-Ch3) shows positive inductive effect( Electron donating group +I effect) Alkene and alkyne shows negative inductive effect(-I effect) Explanation:- Alkenes and alkynes have sp2 and sp hybridized orbitals respectively due to which the percentage s character will be more than that of alkanes which is sp3 hybridized . the percentage s character will be more for alkenes and alkynes. s orbital is near to the nucleus by which electrons are easily attracted to the nucleus and we know that s character is more for alkynes and alkenes so that therefore the electrons will be withdrawn by the double bond and triple bond and we know that pulling off electrons is known as - I effect … Hope I'm able to help you...
