I give u a hint how u will solve it. in the second last step of ur page, they will solve it by variables of separation method(that hopefully u read in solving differential equations), the V they let is a function of R,theta, phi, put this V in the differential equation, then separate the R, Theta, Phi differential functions ..

this variable of separation method is best method to solve these types of tricky differential equations..

while doing separation of R,Theta, phi functions ,u have to let some constant in the R.H.s.. u will know when u do it... best regards...

one more thing, u will also get legender polynomial in the middle of solution and that P(cos theta) in the solution is that legender polynomial..

for any doubt u can ask.

dear, this is a long derivation, if u want I'll attach.. but I suggest u don't get confusion by reading this, bcz this is a very lengthy derivation that is not ur syllabus part (of jam) so leave it, u can remember the formula , hopefully that will help u..leave the derivation as u will gonna read this in master too...best regards.

I'll give u hint in one post. u can see it..

    best regards..
