Electricity theory polarization

explain me the concept of polarization in electricity because i heard it in optics only. Also kindly check the last (highlighted), formula is it correct????

    It is different thing. Don't get confused by same names. here polarisation means, when you put a dielectric in Electric field, the charge inside dielectric gets polarized (it means the charges get seperated out, positive charge accumulates on one side and negative on other side) So the charge per unit area on the surface is called polarisation.
