Example: At an instant shown, three point masses m, 2m and 3m, rest on a horizontal surface and are at the vertices of an equilateral triangle of unit side length. Assuming that G is the gravitational constant, the magnitude and direction of the torque on the mass 3m, about the point o, at that instant (l1T-JAM 2014) IS 3m 2m (A) Zero (B) G/3m, going into the paper (C) 3G3m,coming out of the paper (D) Gvam, going into the paper

    how F2=6gm??

    eduncle-logo-app

F2 is force between mass 3m and mass 2m so formula of force is m1*m2*G/(square of distance between the masses)
