Time management is very much important in IIT JAM. The eduncle test series for IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics helped me a lot in this portion. I am very thankful to the test series I bought from eduncle.

(a) II is an alkaline earth metal (b) I is an alkali metal (c) III is a non-metal Ist is alkali metal as see the second ionisation energy IE2 is very high and you know in case of alkali metal there is one valence electrons in s subshell and after removal of this 1 electrons there is configuration of nearest noble gas which is stable so requires large ionisation energy for removal of electrons. IInd is alkaline earth metal as you know first thing is that successive ionization energy goes on increasing so this is the case and in alkaline earth metal there is 2 s electrons . IIIrd is non metal as you know ionisation energy increases from left to right in a period and maximum for grp 18 elements and with respect to 1st and 2nd see 1st ionisation energy is maximum for 3rd so it is non metal
please ask if any doubt
