Please ask if you don't get anything 🙏

    eduncle-logo-app

yes this option is correct but please give me reason for thus

    eduncle-logo-app

Reshav p orbital how do they orient in space.

    eduncle-logo-app

    You tell me

    eduncle-logo-app

Three p orient themselves in 90⁰ with each other. Px, Py, Pz.

    eduncle-logo-app

Now in question it is given pure 2p & pure 2s is used.

    eduncle-logo-app

Since S is spherical so you can't define bond angle for one C-H bond. But for remaining 3p since they are 90⁰ with respect to each. Three C-H bond angle will be 90⁰

Still not clear please ask again where you can not understand.

CH4 has tetrahederal structure orientation with sp3 hybridization. hece 4 C-H bonds would be at equal angles with each C-H bond. and that would be 109.5 degree and that is practically observed. And all would have same strength as all are identical.

In methane that is CH4, the hybridisation of the central carbon atom is sp3. Therefore the geometry of the atom is tetrahedral. Now that means that the C-H bonds will form an angle of 109o28' with each other. As all the positions are equivalent in a CH4 molecule therefore the bp-bp repulsions will be minimum when the angle is 109o28'(by VSEPR Theory). now your question is assuming pure 2s and 2p orbitals are involved in bonding.therefore 3 C-H bonds will be at right angles but one will be indefinite.3 C-H bonds will be identical but one will be not. The angle formed by s-s overlapping will be undefined.
