A is the answer. There will be only one point where electric field will be zero that is centre point of the square.

some sources online say that there will be 5 points ( unstable equilibrium) but I don't understand how it's is possible ... because clearly if we place a +q charge at the mid point of one side the net force on it will be non-zero

clearly force acting on a charge placed at mid point of any of the side won't be zero.

see this is the electric field at mid point of any of the side due to all four charges,clearly it is not zero
